26 April 2017

Council Member - Committee of National Committees (CNC)

Petr is a graduate of UWC Mostar (2009-2011) that is a passionate learner and educator. After graduating from UWC, Petr received BA in International Politics and Economics from Middlebury College and MA in Political Science from Central European University.

Before finding his way to education, he worked in management consulting. In his free time, he served as a member of the UWC Mostar College Board, facilitated for Critical Engagement Initiative at UWC Adriatic and Atlantic, and organizer of UWC Short Courses in Belgium, Turkey, Bulgaria, and the United Kingdom. All these initiatives convinced him to return to UWC as an employee. He helped students to find passion for global politics, theory of knowledge, environment, and hiking while serving in various pastoral roles including Senior Tutor, Houseparent, and Deputy Safeguarding Lead.

After working at UWC Mostar and UWC Atlantic, Petr decided to Prague, his hometown, and explore alternative approaches to learning at a democratic high school. Yet, he could not stay away from UWC for too long, volunteered for UWC Mostar as a Project Week coordinator, and was elected a Board Member of the Czech National Committee.

"All my UWC times, as a student and a staff member, were life-changing experiences that gave me many new friends and taught me a lot about others and myself. I wish to ensure that others have such an opportunity in this fast-changing world."
