Safeguarding all members of the UWC community, especially all our students, is a top priority for the UWC movement and all of its entities, including the 18 UWC schools and colleges and the over 155 national committees.
UWC International Board Safeguarding Statement
The Trustees of UWC International affirm their commitment to the wellbeing and safety of all members of the UWC community in reflection of UWC’s core values of personal responsibility and integrity, autonomy and mutual responsibility, respect and compassion.
They also affirm their full commitment to safeguarding and to promoting the wellbeing of all children and young people in the care of UWC schools, colleges, national committees, projects and educational programmes.
The Trustees confirm their belief in the right of all children to be protected from all forms of abuse, neglect, exploitation and violence, as set out in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The UWC Safeguarding Taskforce
The UWC Safeguarding Taskforce consists of members representing the different constituencies of the UWC movement, including representatives of the UWC schools and colleges, the UWC national committees and the UWC International governing bodies. The work of the Safeguarding Taskforce is informed by the input of international safeguarding experts. The Taskforce is chaired by Tove Veierod, the UWC International Board Special Representative on Safeguarding.
