Dawit Dejene has been part of the UWC movement since 1998, when he started volunteering in the UWC Ethiopian National Committee. There he served in different capacities, including Treasurer, Fundraiser, Selection Process Coordinator, as well as facilitator for pre-departure of outbound UWC students from Ethiopia.

Dawit has a natural drive for tackling challenges and a passion for taking part in movements for social change and peace, such as UWC. He is extremely proud of “his” UWC students and alumni, and takes any chance to spread the world about the UWC experience. For the past few years, he has also hosted students from South Sudan and helped them navigate their visa application process.

Dawit continues to provide support to other African National Committees and loves to share opportunities and challenges he has encountered as a member of the Ethiopian National Committee and beyond. Since January 2020, he has also been a representative of the Committee of National Committees (CNC) in Africa. 

Outside of UWC, he is the Founder and General Manager of TDS Travel & Tour Services, an Ethiopian based family-run business.
