#Embraceyourcolor

29 March 2017

Sidhant Mehra (India, UWC Adriatic 2004-2006), owner of JNTA Studio in Mumbai, tells meaningful stories through film.

As in the case of #Embraceyourcolor, resulting from the collaboration with NGO Kranti. Kranti empowers girls from Mumbai’s red-light areas to become agents of social change by giving them the education and exposure to transform them into innovative, compassionate, and resilient leaders.

“It's our attempt to raise our voice and encourage the youth in India to embrace their diversity. The culture of skin color discrimination and skin color bullying has persisted in India for far too long”, Sidhant says.

Mehra has taken his UWC experience to heart and has sought to recreate this environment in his professional life. He says “when considering a new project, the foremost question in my mind is - does this stand the chance of projecting something that is good? And that pursuit of sincerity and goodness informs the entire production process”.
