A couple of years ago, a group of students at UWC South Est Asia started a recycling initiative group called GreenFingers (GF). The idea was - and still is - to promote and encourage recycling best practices within the local community, starting with #UWCSEA East campus!

To raise awareness around waste management and to educate others, the group recognize that they first have to educate themselves. Their primary source of inspiration is @tzuchisg, a non governmental organization based on environmentally focused goals, widely known as “Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repair and Recycle”. As a result, their “Recycling Thursdays” and other initiatives have been very successful, and their collaboration with the Facilities Department has effectively produced more recycling bins for plastic and paper materials!
