A Visual Arts Teacher

29 March 2017

Not only Wendy Tai is a Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong alumna (2002-2004) - now she is also Visual Arts Teacher at LPC, where she went back last year to transform and inspire the college’s Arts students!

My ambition until now - it’s still my dream - was, or rather is, to become an artist. I am still an artist, but a lot of my time is spent on teaching. I started teaching as I need a way to support myself. Teaching art was a good compromise. I was teaching something that I am passionate about, but at the same time I feel like I'm not just doing any job - it’s a job that I feel really can make a difference. Once I started teaching, I realised that I liked it way more than I expected. When I found out about the vacancy al LPC for a Visual Arts teacher I was all over it! It would have been amazing, because my LPC experience was really positive, and I wanted to return and spread the love. I knew that LPC students were very engaged and active students from around the world. I would have been an interesting experience for me, as a teacher. And it felt a bit like coming home”.
