UWC Day 2016 - Waterford Kamhlaba
21 September 2016

On UWC Day, Waterford Kamhlaba, comes together to celebrate Peace. Currently the plans are as follows:
The day will begin with a full-school assembly featuring a student speaker from South Sudan on the topic of conflict zones, spoken word performances and a discussion around peace and how we contribute to it.
There will be performances by the wonderful WK Marimba players
In a fun contrast to the usual white dresscode for peace day, they will be making the day as colourful as possible with everyone wearing their brightest colours to signify the beauty in diversity and active tolerance
Throughout the day there will be stones on which students can write messages of peace which will then fill our newly finished "peace garden" just in front of the classroom block
Throughout the week there will also be an "anti-bullying" campaign as well as a #hashtag wall on which students can share their stories
