Saumya is the Funded Programmes Officer at UWC International. In her role, Saumya supports the management of the funded scholarship programmes, including the Rise-UWC programme and the EU Scholarship Programme for Cypriot Youth. She also supports the narrative and financial reporting for donors, the monitoring and evaluation of the funded programmes, liaising with the UWC schools and colleges. 

Saumya is an Indian-trained dentist and also holds a postgraduate degree in Rural Management. Her experiences in remote rural areas and her interactions with marginalized communities motivated her to pursue a career in the development sector. She has over eight years of experience in social impact organisations that spans program management, research, fundraising, and donor engagement. Saumya started her professional journey as a Project Manager for a joint effort between UNICEF and the State Governments in India. She spent the next three years in project management and resource mobilization roles in grassroots-level organisations working in health, education, and livelihoods domains; before moving to consulting roles, including a research consultant role at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in India. Her most recent role was Fundraising and Donor Relations Manager at UWC Mahindra College.

Outside of work, Saumya’s passions and interests include yoga, painting, and cooking.
