Special UWC International Board Representative on Safeguarding

As the Special UWC International Board Representative on Safeguarding, Tove chairs the Safeguarding Task Force that developed the “Common Standards for Safeguarding across UWC” approved by the UWC International Board on 28 October 2018. She was also a UWC International Board Member and the Chair of UWC Red Cross Nordic until 2017.

Tove was Deputy Minister for Culture, Higher Education and Research in Norway for over two years, and Minister of Health and Social Affairs for two years. She spent 20 years as a secondary school teacher, and taught English, Norwegian language and literature, and World literature. She was the Director of Information for renewable energy company, Norsk Hydro, one of the largest companies in Norway. Tove has served on several boards in the fields of education and culture over the years, such as chair of The Festival of Northern Norway, University of Oslo, the Museum of Art  and Chair of the Nordic Association.
