Pestalozzi-UWC Scholarship Programme

Pestalozzi provides high quality educational opportunities for exceptional 16-19 year-olds from some of the world’s poorest communities, developing their potential and helping them to make a positive difference in the world. Pestalozzi International Foundation invests in the education of high achieving but low income students who would not be able to complete their secondary schooling without scholarship support. These young people are selected on the basis of their potential to become future leaders who will have the ability and knowledge to positively impact the lives of many others. The programme helps break the cycle of intergenerational poverty for the students themselves and equips them to make a significant difference in society.

In 2019 the Pestalozzi International Foundation decided to expand into a partnership with UWC International, and together started the Pestalozzi-UWC Scholarship Programme targeting students coming from underprivileged and marginalised backgrounds who would not have the opportunity to complete their education without scholarship support. The first five Pestalozzi-UWC Scholars entered UWC in August 2019, with plans being developed to expand the programme and reach out to more deserving young people.

"We are delighted to be working in partnership with UWC. This collaboration will enable us to continue to provide support to young people with flexibility and on a scale that is sustainable for the long term."
