Head of Experiential Learning

The Head of Experiential Learning is responsible for all experiential learning programmes and events, managing oversight of all aspects of the Triveni Programme (CAS), Project-Based Learning (PBL) and
the innovative MUWCI Core Certificate through the integration of all the educational programmes at the
College. The Head of Experiential Learning also heads the “TRIVENI” office which organises all co-curricular activities and outdoor programmes for our students. Duties include but are not limited to: 
  • Ensuring the goals of the Triveni Programme are in consonance with the UWC mission and IB CAS guidelines
  • Providing leadership for all individuals involved in the Triveni programmes, PBL and the MUWCI Core components (in collaboration with the Head of Student Life, the Head of Academics and Deputy Head of College), including ongoing curriculum and assessment development
  • Teaching MUWCI Core sessions as needed
  • Involvement in the new Tinkering Lab
  • Being the primary link between administration and partner organisations to ensure smooth facilitation of student projects
  • Developing and maintaining policy documents (Triveni Handbook, Project Guidelines)
  • Supervising Experience India Week and Project Week
  • Identifying and facilitating training programmes as required for faculty and students
  • Ensuring that all UWC Mahindra College stakeholders (management, parents, National Committees, prospective students etc.) and the campus community are kept informed about ongoing projects and activities, with adequate ways of publicizing achievements
  • Overseeing all aspects relating to Safety and Security of students engaged in activities which fall under the purview of Experiential Learning
  • Ensuring the maintenance and use of equipment (sound/video/outdoor) and facilities which belong to the Triveni office
  • Overseeing the reporting of student achievement in College Reports
  • Participating in UWC Indian National Committee Selections
  • Contributing to the design and delivery of Orientation Programmes for Faculty and Students
  • Managing the relevant budgets for Triveni and PBL
  • Teaching at least one IBDP class (Theory of Knowledge or other subject)
  • The Head of Experiential Learning will be assisted in this position by the Creativity & Action Co-ordinator and the Community Service Coordinator.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • B.A. Degree in Education or other relevant degree
  • 2 years relevant international teaching experience, preferably in an educational institution offering IBDP
  • Knowledge of Experiential Learning philosophy and experience of applying it to curriculum and learning programmes
  • Familiar with the use of Google tools and Managebac
  • Experience of working in highly multicultural settings
  • Confident in supervising and training staff
  • Wilderness First Aid Certification
