Simone holds a Master’s degree in International Relations and Affairs from the Università degli Studi di Trieste. He began teaching English while collaborating with a charity in Rwanda. Simone has been involved with the UWC movement for the past twenty years. After running short courses in Montenegro and Russia, in 2006 he joined the faculty of UWC Adriatic. In 2015, he came to UWC ISAK Japan, where he teaches English and Theory of Knowledge, and serves as English Department Chair. Trained as a counselor in Carl Roger’s person-centered approach, Simone introduced the Peer Supporter programme to UWC ISAK Japan. He believes that the intellectual development of students should go hand in hand with their personal growth, and he is committed to supporting them in discovering and achieving their potential, both inside and outside the classroom.
