International Biosphere Stewardship Program / Indonesia

22 July 2019

14 July - 22 July 2019

UWC short course in partnership with the Biosphere Foundation

The Biosphere Foundation invites young people, aged 15 to 18, to join the International Biosphere Stewardship Program holding from 14 July to 22 July 2019.

During this program, you will join other young environmentalists from all over the world and local Balinese teenagers for a program of fun, learning, adventure and exploration of the biosphere; the challenges it is facing and see how we can make a difference.

You will experience, first-hand, the many different natural biomes that North West Bali has to offer such as the monsoon forest, coral reef and mangrove forest. You will also explore  man-made biomes such as farms and the city, and see how we are impacting our biosphere.

You will join in with the Biosphere Foundation and local community organizations in hands-on service work on our various projects and make a meaningful contribution.

Most of all, you will be able to share your knowledge and experience with others and think about the environmental challenges facing your local environment, and how you can bring the knowledge and experience gained during the program home and apply it to your local community.

  • Snorkel the reefs, hike the forest, get involved in hands on community service.
  • Meet other young people from all over the world, along with local Balinese teenagers who are very excited to meet you. You will make friends for life!
  • Experience a whole new culture with Balinese students as your guides. Share with all, the experiences and challenges from your own country.
  • Improve your communication and leadership skills – go home ready to take on your role as a steward of our Biosphere.
