Louise is the Communications and Engagement Officer at UWC International. She is responsible for creating content across a wide range of digital and printed publications, including the UWC International Annual Review, and also newsletters, speeches, articles, blogs and social media posts. On the engagement side, she also supports the development of initiatives and resources aimed at keeping the UWC community engaged, such as the UWC Hub, UWC Unlocked Talks and UWC Day. She liaises closely with staff, volunteers, students and alumni from across the world to support their communications and engagement activities, and tracks down all the inspiring stories worth telling.

Louise has a BA Hons. Degree in English Literature and Language and a Master’s degree in Journalism, beginning her career as a BBC news reporter and producer. She has travelled widely, working in Southeast Asia and the Middle East as a journalist and communications consultant. She has worked as an EAL teacher and has delivered programmes to boost reading and literacy, and has also trained people in effective writing skills.  

Louise has led fundraising projects on behalf of education charities, and believes wholeheartedly in the power of education to bring about positive change in the world.  Louise draws upon her multicultural experience to bring a sense of compassion and open curiosity to all she does, and is committed to furthering UWC’s mission to use education as means to build a peaceful and sustainable future.

Louise is also a qualified yoga and breathwork teacher and enjoys helping people to understand the relationship between their bodies and minds, and the positive effects of mindful movement and functional breathing. She lives in Kent and thinks there's nothing better than being by or in the water, whether it's swimming, diving or stand-up paddleboarding.  She is an avid reader and keen podcast listener.
