On 21 September UWC Changshu will play a “climate collage”  a fun, participatory and creative workshop on climate change. Based on collective intelligence, it is an educational tool which will give our community the opportunity to learn a lot in a short period of time. The knowledge acquired is about the climate system and the cause-effect links between the different components of climate change. Highlighting the complexity of climate change, we will train students as facilitators so that they can become catalysts of shared and collective learning; building understanding to create a more peaceful and a more sustainable future as they share the activity with others.  However, in his recent best seller, “When China Rules the World”, Martin Jacques identifies that China’s economic rise causes more concern for some than the change in our global climate. Learning to value diversity and pluralism and guarding against prejudice and discrimination, our students develop fluency and competence with the language and culture of China to prepare them to welcome and thrive amidst the complex changes to come.
