Life at UWC

Life at UWC is made up of a world of different experiences and opportunities. So, what can you expect once you set foot on a UWC campus?

On the academic side, you are going to study a very challenging curriculum with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP). But far beyond that, UWC is about learning through experience. By developing or supporting projects helping the surrounding communities, you will learn to put your passion for change into action. By exploring different creative and sports activities - from pottery to skiing, from photography to hiking - you will develop new skills and will be encouraged to push past your comfort zone. By living together in shared residencies with other students from all over the world and from all sorts of different backgrounds, you will learn to set aside differences and overcome barriers - and lifelong friendships will emerge along the way.

“No two days at UWC are the same. You could be spending a day working in the art studio with friends and the next going on a challenging hike only to return to a lab experiment in the science block followed by a game of ultimate frisbee. The next day you could then be heading to a school in the neighbouring community to teach and learn from their students.”
