The Big Green Makeover, part of the Transition Edinburgh University initiative, is a home energy project that aims to support students and staff to reduce their energy usage through raising awareness and sharing skills.
Trained volunteers carry out home visits, host energy advice stalls and run workshops to provide one to one support. This hands on, face to face approach, means that the students are actively being, making and creating the change they want to see in the world.
Sion has been working with the volunteer-led project steering group to facilitate and develop the project for the last two years.
"I think my UWC education has encouraged me to be as open and enquiring as possible in our work" says Sion. "We have approached our efforts as a big learning journey and I hope that this has built up knowledge and capacity within the steering group to take the project forward."
