World Environment Day

UWC makes education a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future.

Our mission statement outlines our commitment to sustainability which is manifested most explicitly in our endeavours to protect and develop the environments of our communities.

From UWC Pearson College's coastal location and its guardianship of Race Rocks Marine Reserve to the biodiversity reserves of UWC Mahindra College, UWC schools and colleges are located in some of the most beautiful and ecologically diverse areas of the world.

The commitment of our students and staff to protecting their communities' environment are demonstrable through the integration of numerous projects and initiatives into our transformational curriculums and campus life.

Similarly many UWC alumni choose volunteer or to work in areas concerned with environmental sustainability.

In celebration of World Environment Day we have brought together some of our members' environmentally focused work, projects and profiles to celebrate UWC's commitment to environmental sustainability and encourage others to join.
