I became more open to hear other people’s opinions about various things and learned that there are various legitimate views for everything

Liat Fuchs (LPC92-94) is currently a VIP Affiliate Manager with Random Logic Ltd – 888.com, working in online marketing.

Previously Liat was an account manager at Data Pool and spent two years travelling in Central and South America, and a further six month period working and living in California.  Liat also completed her military service in Israel where she was a paramedic instructor in the school of military medicine gaining valuable experience in teaching and supervising large groups of people

Liat received a BA in Political Science and South Asia Studies at Tel-Aviv University in Israel and a Masters in marketing and advertising. She has recently completed her MBA from The College of Management, Rishon Le-Tzion, Israel.

“I first heard about UWC through an article in an Israeli youth magazine about a guy that went to Pearson College, in Canada.” says Liat.

“My experience at UWC was quite different from my Israeli high school.  Through studying with people from all around the world, I learned about different cultures and way of life.  Living together in a community taught me how to be more sensitive to people, to understand their needs, to listen to them. The Creative, Action, Service programme (CAS) has contributed to me being more socially involved in the community, understanding, enjoying and helping people. I became more open to hear other people’s opinions about various things and learned that there are various legitimate views for everything.

“UWC has had a very big impact. I learned not to judge things and people before I examine every aspect of the issue, to listen to people. I think I gained social skills and by living with my friends I learned how to be considerate and sensitive to people. It made me understand that by doing small things in my close community I can influence on my environment. It gave me strong and ever lasting friendships and made me a much better person.  I listen to people more now as a result of my time at UWC.  I honour them and try not to get into arguments. I no longer make quick judgements and I am better at distinguishing between what’s important and what’s not.

“The social non-formal gatherings we had at UWC were fantastic.  Just sitting together and talking, telling each other where we came from and about our life back home have become such wonderful memories.”
